During Mardi Gras time in 1953 --- I think that was the middle of February. I was traveling with 2 other AVCADS from Lackland to Brainbridge, GA. The .36 Olds we had died from no grease in the rear end and we bought a 1941 Ford in Houston.
When we arrived at Primary in Bainbridge, the other 2 Cadets decided that neither wanted that Ford so I bought them out--- now I needed insurance and had heard about USAA--- March of '53 is my start time with USAA. I got out of The USAF in '58 and kept on with USAA through the years.
Now, all my kids and grandkids use it ---
