USAA Bank to end ATM and NSF fees by end of 2022

We know our military members are highly mobile, making it hard for members to predict or plan for every life moment. Our goal is to provide members outstanding banking experiences and allow them to access their accounts on their terms. That’s why we’ll be eliminating some banking fees by the end of 2022. This decision helps support the broader USAA mission to facilitate the financial security of our members by helping them manage their own money and save for the future.

USAA Bank will end the $2 ATM service fee it currently charges for each withdrawal members make at non-USAA ATMs after the first 10 withdrawals monthly. Members will continue to have unlimited surcharge-free ATM access to a network of more than 60,000 preferred ATMs nationwide which we’re continuously expanding based on member need. Members may still be charged fees by other companies for using ATMs outside of this network.

USAA Bank will stop charging the $29 NSF fee for each transaction that we decline or return unpaid when an account's available balance isn't enough to pay for the transaction.

“We continuously evaluate and are committed to providing products and services to enable members to manage their financial security,” said Ryan Bailey, USAA Bank senior vice president, head of retail banking. “We’re pleased to offer these enhancements later this year, to go along with other budgeting and advice tools to help members better manage their finances.”

USAA Bank will communicate directly with members as the account changes are implemented later this year.
