TAMPA – USAA employees have started moving into the second office building at the Crosstown Center campus in Tampa. Crosstown’s newest addition brings the total number of USAA facilities in Tampa to three. This growth is part of the financial services provider’s strategy to meet the evolving needs of its growing membership.
Approximately 350 employees moved into the new building on Monday, with additional employees moving in the coming weeks. The new facility has 240,000 square feet of floor space and will ultimately be able to accommodate around 1,100 employees. With the new addition, USAA now has approximately 1 million square feet of office space in Tampa.
“A diverse and growing workforce of skilled professionals is required to provide our members the service they expect and deserve,” said Yvette Segura, vice president and general manager in Tampa. “Tampa is a talent-rich area, and we’re excited about the future.”
USAA opened its Commerce Park location in 1993 and the first Crosstown office in 2015. Currently, USAA employs approximately 3,500 employees in Tampa, including almost 900 who have the flexibility to work at home. The association is looking to hire several hundred more employees in Tampa this year. Many of these employees will work directly with members to address their needs, including handling insurance claims and questions about their bank accounts.
“While the majority of employees moving into Crosstown B are transferring from Crosstown A, we were able to accommodate approximately 75 employees from our Commerce Park location who want to work closer to home,” Segura added. “This is just one more way USAA is working to improve the employee experience.”
