March 7, 2014 – Longtime company leader and Executive Council member Chris Claus has chosen to leave USAA March 31. Claus finishes a 20-year career at the organization that included serving as president of two USAA companies and creating USAA’s financial advice team.

“During the past 20 years that Chris has devoted to USAA, he has been at the forefront of the investment management and financial advice capabilities USAA provides to our military families,” said USAA CEO and President Maj. Gen. Josue “Joe” Robles Jr., U.S. Army (Ret.). “His contributions have been significant, and I know the entire USAA team joins me in wishing him every success in the next chapters of his life.”

Claus joined USAA in 1994 and became president of USAA Investment Management Company in 2001. He then served as president of USAA’s Financial Advice and Solutions Group beginning in 2007 and rounded out his career at USAA by creating the Enterprise Advice Group to provide actionable, relevant financial advice and tools to USAA members.

“It has been a tremendous honor to be part of this great organization,” Claus said. “When I joined USAA in 1994, I knew this was a special place – one with a purpose-driven mission and a place where I could contribute to the financial security of our military members and their families. USAA is one of the greatest companies in the world, with amazing employees who serve those who serve us every day. I have really lived my dream here at USAA.”
