If you had to pick one city in all the United States to visit which would you choose!? Did your choice make the list below? Each of the top ten vacation destinations have unique attractions and experiences to offer. I have highlighted a few, but would love to hear your favorite spots!
Vacations become even more special during the throws of military life. It forces you to make the most out of the time you have together. My husband is truly tired of hearing the reasoning, “who knows when you will be deployed or away next- we should travel now while we can”! Luckily, he humors me and we have made many wonderful memories traveling as a family!
Here are the top 10 Vacation destinations:
Orlando, FL With so many unique big-ticket attractions like, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal and Walt Disney World, it is no surprise that Orlando is at the top of the list. Many of the attractions in Orlando, including Disney World, offer discounts for military servicemembers and their families. Be sure to check out your installation Information, Tickets and Tours (ITT) office for details.
Atlanta, GA The top attractions according to TripAdvisor are the Georgia Aquarium and Atlanta Botanical Garden. I would be tempted by a southern food tour, to sample all of the city’s culinary delights!
Los Angeles, CA So much more than just a Hollywood sign! Visit the Griffith Observatory. (It would be remiss not to also mention Universal Studios and nearby Disneyland!)

San Antonio, TX The Riverwalk is a must see, and while you are there a visit to the Alamo for a brief history lesson. If you are looking for more of an adventure, check out the caves at Natural Bridge Caverns or Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
San Diego, CA No surprise here since the weather year-round is near perfect! Don’t miss the USS Midway Museum, the San Diego Zoo or exploring all that La Jolla (beautiful beach, caves, an occasional sea lion).
Las Vegas, NV Even if gambling and casinos don’t interest you, there is still so much to enjoy like, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation, the Hoover Damn and my family’s most memorable attraction the Shark Reef Aquarium
Dallas/Ft Worth, TX: Put on your boots and visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens or the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. If you’re lucky, catch the Cowboys playing at AT&T Stadium.
