Your idea of a permanent change of station (PCS) may be a bit different from the military's definition. When you come to the PCS section of USAA's Military Spouse Community you'll find information that will make your first or next moving experience easier to handle.

How do you move with two dogs that weigh 70 pounds each? What breeds are allowed overseas? Should you bring your American washers and dryers to Japan?

In this section we will cover topics ranging from moving with children and pets to owning, buying and selling a home. With so many experienced PCS-ers out there, the potential for great discussions on PCS are endless. USAA wants to make sure that Military Spouses have a safe place to talk, find trusted resources to answer questions or address concerns.

I am a newly married military wife and just found out that were are going to Japan. This is a big change for me since I have only lived in one state my entire life thus far. I was wondering how difficult is it to find work on base and any tips that would help in finding work. Also how big of an adjustment is to move from the states to another country? Any suggestions to not feel homesick?
