Songs That Get You Jazzed for a PCS

I wish a PCS was more like a concert full of dancing and singing at the top of your lungs, pretending to be best friends with everyone you meet. Why not add a little pizazz to your moving activities with a PCS playlist? Here are some tunes (and a sample of the lyrics) that get me in the mood to move — literally!

"Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – "Home, let me come home, Home is wherever I'm with you..."

"Leaving On a Jet Plane" by John Denver – "All my bags are packed I'm ready to go..."

"Who Says You Can't Go Home" by Bon Jovi – "Who says you can't go home, there's only one place they call me one of their own..."

"Let it Be" by the Beatles (we all need to remember this when moving) – "When I find myself in times of trouble,

Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be..."

"On the Road Again" by Willie Nelson – "Goin' places that I've never been. Seein' things that I may never see again, and I can't wait to get on the road again..."

"Ramblin' Man" by the Allman Brothers – "When it's time for leaving, I hope you'll understand, that I was born a rambling man..."

"Hit the Road Jack" by Ray Charles – "Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more..."

Adding some levity to the situation also helps. These songs make me laugh when listening to them while preparing for a military move.

"Under Pressure" by Queen – "Pressure pushing down on me, Pressing down on you..."

"Movin' On Up" Theme from the Jeffersons – "Well we're movin' on up, to the east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky. Movin' on up, to the east side. We finally got a piece of the pie..."

"I like to Move it" by Reel 2 Real (the Madagascar version is the best) – "I Like to Move it, Move it..."
