What better way to spread love this Valentine’s day, than taking an opportunity to appreciate and acknowledge Veterans? My daughters Kindergarten class is busy making handmade valentines for veterans in our local community and it led me to find these efforts as well:

104-year-old World War II veteran and Purple heart Recipient Maj Bill White shared his request for Valentines to add to his shelf of mementos and the response has been heartwarming! You can read his story here and send a valentine to:

Operation Valentine
ATTN: Hold for Maj Bill White, USMC (Ret)
The Oaks at Inglewood
6725 Inglewood Ave.
Stockton, CA 95207

Another option is to find your local VA and drop off cards (or mail) to Veterans in your community:

You can also support Soldiers Angels and their Valentine Distribution:

Have you participated in an effort or program to send valentines to Veterans? Please share below!

Briana, what a very thoughtful post!  Thank you and thank you to your children's kindergartner's class for thinking of veterans like me during Valentine's Day.  I am confident the results will bring numerous smiles to our veteran at home and at the VA medical facilities.

@DutchMC, we appreciate your kind words. Coming from someone like you who has served definitely means a lot to us. It's always such a pleasure to help honor you and those who so bravely fought for our country. Thank you! ~ Stacy
