USAA IS NO LONGER ACCREDITED BY BETTER BUSINESS Burea
Looked at BBB, there has been more than 900 complaints and USAA has decicded they no longer want to answer to their members, hence not be part of the BBB.
BBB AccreditationU S A A Auto Insurance is not BBB Accredited.
To be accredited by BBB, a business must apply for accreditation and BBB must determine that the business meets BBB accreditation standards, which include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints. BBB Accredited Businesses must pay a fee for accreditation review/monitoring and for support of BBB services to the public. - See more at: http://www.bbb.org/western-washington/business-reviews/insurance-companies/u-s-a-a-auto-insurance-in...
I don't think that USAA was ever a paying member of the BBB. The BBB is a private organization, not a governmental regulatory agency, and has absolutely no authority to change anything in any company, including USAA. It is essentially a useless organization that makes money of off "accredited" businesses by threatening them with "not being accredited" if they don’t pay membership fees. Did you know that in order to be accredited a business has to pay fees to the BBB? Doesn’t that seem to take away any credibility that the BBB has? Here is a link to a good video about a 20/20 investigation on ABC into the BBB that questions its integrity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo8kfV9kONw
If you still feel a BBB rating is relevant after watching that 20/20 investigation, take a look at the main BBB file for USAA, which has been continuously updated since 1950 at this link http://www.bbb.org/central-texas/business-reviews/insurance-companies/usaa-in-san-antonio-tx-23452. You will notice that even without accreditation, USAA has an A+ rating.
USAA (http://www.bbb.org/central-texas/Business-Reviews/insurance-companies/usaa-in-san-antonio-tx-23452) is not BBB Accredited, but they currently have an A+ rating - good enough for me!!
