Seriously, I have been trying to complete my taxes for a time now . i habvengt done them in a while and i have some debts to catch up to ...b ut this year i made enough to take care of those things as well as my own responsibilities . how do i convince my wife , who has taken over my finances as well as my daily goals , to allow me to do my taxes seperately so as to not affect her well balanced lifestyyle
If you haven't completed this years tax filing then hopefully by now you have filed for an extension and paid any tax owed.

QUOTE FROM IRS: Please be aware that an extension of time to file your return does not grant you any extension of time to pay your tax liability.
As for filing status Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately the choice is between you and your wife. However that said, BOTH of you must use the same filing status if you decide to use filing status of Married Filing Separately.
I hope I have helped.
