The disrespect the NFL has shown to our flag and country over the past year has been criticized by the President, the Vice President, 4-Star Military Officers, and thousands of USAA members who have sent messages to USAA encouraging them to end their sponsorship of the NFL.

After a year of this disrespect, USAA continues to associate its military member base with the NFL, USAA continues to use our military member funds to sponsor the NFL, and USAA continues to provide no transparency to their members regarding the scope of their sponsorship of the NFL. Despite all that, USAA continues to advertise itself as "The Official Military Appreciation Sponsor of the NFL".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NFL PETITION STATEMENT
1.) We the Members of USAA call upon the Senior Management of USAA to immediately end its sponsorship of the NFL and to redirect those funds to reputable veterans charities.
2.) We also call upon USAA to stop it's military related advertising. If USAA is not willing to support its member base and the military values we stand for then please do not act as though you represent us and then redefine what it is we stand for to the public.
Obviously, the BOD does not support or agree with the membership. I think this petition needs to be expanded to include a call for immediately replacing the BOD. IAW Article II, Section 2, a Special Meeting may be called if a petition signed by 1 percent of the members of USAA  exists. I propose that this petition be expanded to call for a Special Meeting to not only force a stop to the NFL sponsorship and advertising, but also to replace the Board of Directors, who obviously have forgotten that they work for the membership.
The next step we should take is to recall each of the present Board and elect onto the Board members who represent the values of its members.
Thank You,
489 USAA Members
USAA no longer supports or represents military personnel or veterans so please stop with the false advertising.
I wish USAA would stop saying that they represent the military, because they really don't.
First off, you do not sponsor a company that openly disrespects military members because you want to show appreciation to the military. This sponsorship is and always has been about increasing the member base, it is about MONEY, not MEMBERS OR THE MILITARY so please stop.
A salute to service from an organization made up of people that do not show even basic respect when the anthem is played is more like a middle finger to any person that has ever served.  You either stand with your members, the VFW, the American Legion or you kneel with a bunch of overpaid, disrespectful, and ignorant jocks that are paid to perform.  There is no middle ground
USAA supporting this manipulation of the American people at the expense of the flag and this great country is absurd. Your bank is in a commercial the other day next to the NFL symbol, physically made me sick. Disgusting- For veterans? For profit?.
USAA is supporting the NFL's degradation of our flag.   USAA has since taken advantage of the military for the mighty dollar.  They know it.  I'm just a USAA-used so called 'member'.  Give me a call at * if you want more on their scam ....
I am shocked that USAA continues to support the NFL. It must come down to one thing for USAA - MONEY. Not love of country, not honor for those who have served and died and certainly not the core values of loyalty, duty, respect, personal courage, honor, integrity and selfless service. USAA has now shown its true colors. They claim to support the military and to have the same core values, BUT they have now demonstrated that it is an ACT. They put on this act, so they can make MONEY. USAA appears to be no better than any other financial services company that claims to support the military. USAA - if you disagree with this comment - demonstrate it by discontinuing your support of the NFL.
DrNASA
With respect to USAA's sponsorship of the NFL and USAA leadership's refusal to listen to or acknowledge the voice of its members - we will be requesting through our US congressional representatives that USAA not be given privileged access to members of the military or the military academies, ROTC or military training schools or US military bases to find new members among the United States military venues. Such access by an organization that encourages public humiliation, dishonor and disrespect to our Armed Forces is unacceptable and they should not have unique access to our armed service members to find a new business and then to distribute that financial resource to activities such as the NFL.
Many including myself are getting quotes for insure from other companies. I already cancel my usa visa, and unfortunately after calling I was given a genetic statement about how much usaa cares about us and how "they" will always stand for the National Anthem, yet their actions do not support such statement, I was told that nfl ads add to their base by recruiting new members , with nfl ratings down on all markets you would think they would reconsider this ad strategy, here is the numbers in case usaa can't find them !
Favorable ratings for the NFL have dropped from 57 per cent to 44 per cent from the end of August to the end of September
Meanwhile, the unfavorable rating for the league is the highest among any big sport * per cent - according to the Winston Group survey
In August and September, baseball had the highest favorable rating than any other sport at 63 and 65 per cent
The National Anthem protest along with criticism from Trump has caused core fans, men aged * to turn their attention elsewhere that segment aline is down 31% !!!!
Wake up USAA.
As holders of many USAA policies for 40+ years we stand with this petition to drop the NFL. Sadly we are researching other insurance options.
I am a 30 year member. I was once proud to be a member of USAA when it was a true membership organization...I can no longer say this. USAA has become just another insurance company that cares more the dollar then the values of the vast majority of its membership. USAA has proven this with their continued sponsorship of the NFL. Sad!
USAA is lacking leadership, just hiding until the dust settles... This PR disaster will be studied in marketing classes for decades to come.
As a long-time member I'm very concerned about the deterioration of USAA's commitment to it's members.  I'm adding my voice to the petition in hopes that the BOD will recognize the error of it's ways.  Am beginning the process of moving  our banking and insurance business from USAA as of today.
USAA needs to drop the NFL. Most of ALL your clients are veterans. We are tired of the NFL disrespecting our country, Veterans, and the Flag we fought for. My father and fellow servicemen that I served with died for this country and I am sick and disgusted that USAA would support this activity by sending these Billionaires millions of dollars to sponsor an organization that degrades our flag, country and veterans. WHY would USAA support an organization that degrades all of its members and clients???????????
Other that than USAA's continuing to support the NFL and team owners that are allow players to disrespect this great country. A person or company can express their self but understand there may be consequences. I would hate to leave but I will
I am not a member of the military, but my father has been my whole life until he recently retired. He has traveled the world for this country, and taught his girls to be patriotic and proud if this country. What the NFL is allowing is heart breaking. For a company that has opened its doors to help military personnel and their families to continue to sponsor them is even more heart breaking. STOP!!
This is not the USAA I grew up with as an Air Force brat, and not the one I have personally used since the early 70's when I began my military career. Shame on the lack of courage and silence of our current management team. Have they forgotten where they came from? Perhaps it is the current makeup of the BoD and staff with personnel(s) who possess no service experience? To our BoD's, please cease sponsorship of the NFL until such time as it earns the right to use our membership's funds that were partially or mostly earned by dedicated service to this nation and flag which they refuse to honor.
Sent a typed letter to Stuart Parker, received a scripted reply from a Member Relations rep indicating that USAA has no plans to end USAA's role as the Official Military Appreciation Sponsor of the NFL. This is sad because my parents are buried in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. My father is a WWII veteran.  Two of my childhood friends returned from Vietnam in flag draped coffins. If we don't honor the sacrifices of our military men and women then anarchy will replace patriotism. USAA must either discontinue their relationship with the NFL or insist that the NFL penalize the players protesting our National Anthem.
Ya’ll are a bunch of whiny babies that just ooze White privileged. I bet you are the same people who are crying that stuff is closed so people don’t spread the virus, but step on you’re white privilege and you riot in the street for a haircut. one black man kneels because he feels black people are wronged by police over and over and he must be the enemy. To USAA Boardmembers,
Please remove USAA affiliation with the NFL.  While I understand the rights of USAA members to associate with the NFL, I also understand my rights not to.  Your advertised partnership with the NFL on my behalf violates the trust I have enjoyed with USAA for almost 30 years.
My thoughts on the NFL should not matter here.  What I've stated above should be enough for USAA boardmembers to reconsider "our" formal affiliation with the NFL.  With that said, I'll state it anyway.
I used to be a huge Seahawks fan ... facepaint, season-ticket holder, you name it.  I even flew my family from Singapore to New York to watch our team play and win in Super Bowl 48.  But as soon as the team wrote a formal statement inticting our country as an unjust nation about 4 years ago, I stopped supporting them.  I stopped watching other NFL games as commentators spoke so highly of those players who kneeled for our national anthem.  I became so disgusted with the division taking place, and being forced to choose or accept a political side and disrespect my nation in so doing.  Watching the games, it was as if I was being asked to cede just a little bit of my faith in my country each time as a condition for watching a game.  I wouldn't have it, and when forced, I chose not to watch the NFL anymore.  I will always stand for my country.
I miss football.  A Seahawks fan from 1984 to 2015, I knew that when I attended games, most of those around me probably did not share the same political views as me.  But in the stadium, that didn't used to matter.  We all stood for our country, and we all shared a love of our team.  Now that has been ruined.  I would ask USAA not to take sides here, either.  USAA is an organization I've believed in ... who has been there for me through the years.  Now, I feel betrayed.
Please stop endorsing the NFL.
Very respectfully, John Montonye
