Several relatives have had temporary financial hardships over the years due to divorce, credit card misuse, and illness. We live in different states. By having joint accounts with USAA, I have been able to temporarily and immediately make some of my funds available to them. They have since made great financial recovery and are learning to use the great financial tools that the USAA website makes available.
