I am a disabled vet that survives on a small disability. The state of California sent USAA a request to attach my account. I was never notified by either the state or USAA. After USAA cleaned out my acct which left me unable to buy food or pay my rent I contacted USAA to find out what was going on. They say the state sent a request to them to attach my accounts so they were obligated to do so. When I informed them that it is illegal to attach disability funds see USC, Title 38, §5301 va disability funds are exempt from attachment of any kind. USAA broke the law and sent my disability check and did not care that they left me and my family hungry and unable to pay rent. Please close your accts with this bank before they do this to you.

USAA didn't break the law, but possibly The State of California did. Write your congressman.
