I think the most positive experience I ever had with USAA was when I got a call from my sister that my grandmother was very ill. I needed to travel halfway across the country ASAP. Several days earlier, I had deposited funds into a local bank and transferred them electronically into my USAA account. The call came when the funds were in limbo, no longer available in the local bank, but not cleared into my USAA account either. I called USAA and explained my situation. They quickly removed the hold, making my funds available. 2 hours later, I was on a plane to Dallas. I know they didn't have to do this, and I remain grateful to this day for there help. It's nice to have a bank that says they care about you, but then proves it when it's time for the rubber to meet the road.
