I wholeheartedly agree and understand. My account was compromised last week. I did my part in making sure the bank was aware and I actively got things taken care of so that my 22-year-old account could be closed and another opened. When your debit card is compromised, they make the switch, easy-peasy. Not with a checking account. It's like I am not even a member with the questions under the guise of the "Patriot Act". Where is the money coming from that will be going into this account?
What will you be paying for with this account? Ummm, the same thing I did for 22 years!!! I am in cyber security. These are not questions under the Patriot Act requirements. I just opened a new account while waiting for this to be taken care of at a credit union I got a better car rate at, and they did not ask these questions. The righting has been on the wall. Customer service at a Mcdonald's drive-through is more consistent than what I have dealt with as of late. I encouraged many military brothers and sisters to come to USAA, I will tell them of this treachery. Also....I am paperless. I was told if I wanted access to my statements, I would need to download them by the end of the night. Glenda, who was stellar totally me she could not believe it when she asked. RUN, do NOT walk away from USAA.

Sorry for all the spelling/grammar issues. Difficult to do on phone.

Let me guess... it was an Offshore Company and they sent you a check from maybe Uhaul?
If so, they are targeting Veteran's through social media apps with the promise of a job in these trying times.
I had a family member that luckily called us immediately after making the deposit online to their USAA account and we were able to circumvent any loss. They too were to use the funds for "Equipment" but only could buy through Venmo to the "companies" own vendors.
This is a sad situation that is happening a WHOLE lot!
