I earned my USAA benefits flying fuel and supplies from McMurdo Station, Antarctica to South Pole Station during the Antarctic summers during the years 1988 to 1991.  We flew in support of the National Science Foundation's Antarctic Research Program transporting personnel, fuel and food to the South Pole Station.  We flew 6 days a week, 24 hours a day to support personnel conducting research at the station.  We never stopped our engines and hot refuled if necessary due to extreme weather conditions, usually on a sunny day 0f -50 degrees F.
