Thank you for your question. Morningstar's Star Ratings are based on a funds historical risk and returns in comparison to other funds in the same category. While the ratings do provide some insight, they do not predict future performance. A fund that was a five star fund a year ago could be a two or three star fund the next year if the market changes and the fund's risk and performance does not adapt accordingly in comparison to its peers.
The most important thing is to make sure you align your investments with your overall investment strategy, which should take into account your comfort level with risk, financial ability to take on risk, investment time horizon, and goal(s).
