I've added solar panels to my roof. Do I need to add coverage for this or is it covered under exisring policy?

Hi, @Bill7044. Thank you for reaching out via the USAA Community with this inquiry.  As an automatic part of the homeowners contract, solar panels are covered under your dwelling coverage (or Coverage A) on a replacement cost basis. The only change you would need to make is to add solar panels to your home characteristics page to account for the addition to the structure. In order to so, you may go to your My USAA page, click on Homeowners, and then Edit under Home Characteristics. Then add solar panels including the amount of panels in the dropdown menu. You may also connect with our specialists via chat on USAA.com or by dialing 800-531-8722 in order to do so. :) ~ Steven
