USAA is comprised of many different companies within the USAA brand Enki. This is so we can service a broader range of all military and their families. Each eligibility type can have their own unique situation. It is for this reason that it is not as cut and dry as to who qualifies for what company placement within the company. Thank you for your post and membership. - Justin
What "tier" of membership does a service academy appointee receive? In other words, if a West Point Cadet applies for membership, and purchases car insurance, which USAA insurance company would the Cadet be entitled to? Would it be the "real" USAA or USAA CIC?
Hello and thank you for your inquiry. If a cadet is on scholarship, contract, or on Advanced ROTC as a junior or senior within 24 months of commission then they would meet the eligibility requirement on their on. CIC eligibility is based on establishing eligibility through a USAA eligible sponsor. Thanks! - Darrell

For the benefit of others who may have a similar situation (which is proably no one else in the world), I was told that if a Cadet leaves West Poiont before receiving commission, they would still maintian USAA membership would no longer be in the upper "full" USAA class.
