Does raw dog feeding affect homeowner's insurance premium?

We feed our dogs raw food. Our vet recently told us that due to the possiblity of transmission to humans (especially children) of e-coli, salmonella, and listeria in raw food due to contact with the dogs, this kind of feeding can cause premium increases or even cancellation of homeowners or umbrella insurance. USAA comment?

Good morning @jazbeaux, I appreciate your patience and thank you for your question.  Many factors go into determining insurance premiums such as claims history, location and tenure with USAA.  As for dog food choice, it is not one of those factors.  Thank you for your longtime membership over 5 decades and trusting USAA with your insurance needs.  ~ Marco

No it does not. The only time USAA is concerned about a dog is if it causes damage or if you are applying for an Umbrella policy.
