Does my insurance still cover my vehicle is someone else is driving it?

Is my truck covered if someone else is driving?

Hi @Faye69! Normally, that person would be covered under your auto policy as a permissive user. A permissive user is any person who has permission to use your vehicle, or reasonably believes he or she has permission to use it. However, if a driver regularly uses your vehicle and is not insured elsewhere, there may not be coverage and the driver may need to be added as an additional driver on your policy.

I hope this helps! If you have any additional questions or like to further discuss coverage for a permissive user, please don't hesitate to chat with us online while you're logged into your account. When you're on the policy summary page where chat is available, you'll see Reach a Representative/Ask USAA at the top right. Select the drop down menu, then select Chat. If you prefer, please call us at 210-531-USAA (8722), our mobile shortcut #8722 or 800-531-8722. Thank you! ~ Stacy K.
