How to Get an Auto ID Card

Need your Auto ID card for registration or other purposes? Here is a step by step how to from usaa.com or USAA mobile.

Using USAA.com:

1. On your My Account Summary page, select the auto insurance link.
2. Select "Get Proof of Auto Insurance (Auto ID Cards)."
3. Select "Proof of Insurance Cards".
4. Choose your vehicle(s).
5. Choose your delivery method
   

Or on USAA mobile:

1. Select Auto Insurance Policy
2. Select "Get Auto ID Cards"
3. Choose your vehicle(s)
4. Choose your delivery method

Hawai'i recommends that an Automobile Insurance I.D. be available IN the app. Is this not possible with USAA's app?

Is there an option to have Auto ID cards sent automatically. I do not have access to a printer and it would be much more convenient to have them automatically sent by mail every renewal period.

Hi @Aindrea! You're certainly welcome to update your delivery preferences to get those IDs by regular mail anytime. Just follow these steps below when you're online at usaa.com:

1. Click on your name at the top right-hand corner.
2. Select My Profile & Preferences from the drop-down menu.
3. Account Messaging
4. Scroll down to see your document preferences.
5. You can also navigate to each line of business on the left to confirm your document preference settings.

I wish the ID cards were available in actual ID sized form factors to more easily fit in my wallet or at least digitally available so I can add to my iPhone digital wallet. The full page sheets are not very useful for keeping with me at all times.

This did not work for me. There is no Get Auto ID Card button on the app. When I click Get Proof of Coverage, the page comes up blank. When sending it the pdf will not open as "the file is damaged" and unable to be opened. What next?
