For more than a decade, the marketing research firm Harris Interactive has tracked the best brands in America. And this month, Harris Poll EquiTrend® named USAA Financial Services the “Life Insurance Brand of the Year.”
This is a big kudos for every employee on our life insurance team. It is a team that extends far beyond the Life Company to every corner of USAA. At USAA, our brand is more than just a logo or a name. It is a promise. That promise is — and has always been — to serve our members like we would serve a loved one or a best friend. Winning this award is validation that together we are delivering on our promise.
What’s really great about the Harris Poll EquiTrend® award is that our members voted for us. In the insurance category, USAA was up against 21 competing brands. Out of all those, we rose to the top.
What makes the USAA brand so strong? Everything we do is guided by our mission and core values. The military community has always been, and continues to be, our core membership. That means we design our products and services especially for them — to facilitate their financial security.
Our life insurance products are no different. For example, for soon-to-be deployed members of the military, USAA has an expedited underwriting process to get that service member life insurance before he or she leaves. And for members who have been severely injured in the line of duty, USAA may pay a $25,000 cash sum that can be used to aid in recovery.
USAA also stands out in the way that we deliver our products. For example, in the tragic event that one of our members dies, our Survivor Relations Team is assigned to the family to help with the difficult transition period. This special team not only helps with the life insurance claim but sends condolence packets with helpful advice, offers free consultations with a USAA Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, assists in opening Survivor Savings Accounts and helps coordinate information across different USAA accounts and products.
Winning the Harris Award isn’t just about taking home another prize; it’s about setting high standards that we will always seek to attain and surpass.
