It's 12/12/2014 at 3:30PM and I have no clue if my home loan is approved or denied, yet I'm scheduled to close on Tuesday of next, and have to vacate my apartment on 2 days after that, since I told them I was purchasing a house and would be closing on the specified date and moving in. My lease technically ended last month and I am on a month to month right now except for they already have someone scheduled to move in to my apartment after I leave. Worried about what to do since my son lives with me and as of Thursday of next week we will have no where to stay. I keep getting told that I will know by the end of today and if not on Monday and that it is being reviewed in underwriting for final review. Unfortunately Monday seems like a really bad time to know whether or not my home loan in approved or denied since I will have to move out 3 days later regardless and it's really hard to find an apartment to move into in Houston in a decent area in that amount of time, cause it's not like apartments are just sitting everywhere vacant. I was told that they were just waiting on one verification of employment from my first employer when I got out of the military. Which seems like a really poor reason to hold up an entire loan, which they finally received this morning from the employer. Not sure what do at this point, I am completely stressed out from this whole experience.

If I'm understanding your situation right, you might have a problem as the VA normally requires 45 days to close on a house.  When did you apply for the loan?
