On November 2, 2014, I sent a letter to USAA to dispute an unauthorized credit inquiry with Experian and TransUnion credit report. The credit report showed a credit inquiry by USAA on 6/14/2013 that I do not recall authorizing. I said nicely in the letter that I understand that USAA is not allowed to put an inquiry on my file unless I have authorized it. I also asked nicely for USAA to please have this inquiry removed from my credit file because it is making it very difficult for me to acquire credit.

 

In addition, I said that I sent this letter certified mail because I need USAA’s prompt response to this issue. I said “please be so kind as to forward me documentation that you have had the unauthorized inquiry removed. If you find that I am remiss, and you did have my authorization to inquire into my credit report, please send me proof.” 

 

On November 21, 2014, USAA Federal Savings Bank, ATTN: USAA/Consumer Report Dispute sent me a disrespectful letter that said “we will not investigate your dispute further because we have determined that your dispute is frivolous and/or irrelevant due to the following reason: You did not provide sufficient information for us to be capable of conduction an investigation of the dispute.” 

 

I would like to know who sent that letter to me and why this person is disrespecting me, your customer of 14 years? Not once was I disrespectful. The professional thing to do was just send me a “consumer report dispute form” and ask me to fill it out without the disrespectful words of “frivolous and/or irrelevant” because those are hostile words. I have a right to inquiry about anything USAA related that involves me without all the disrespect.
