Questions about Selling our Home

My wife and I are downsizing, we are planning on selling our home, purchasing an RV and living in that so we don't have to pack up a house every 4 years.
My question is, after it is sold, how long should we wait to apply for a loan for our RV and the truck we will need to pull said RV?? Should we begin the buying process of the RV now, or should we wait until the house is closed on by the buyers?
