Mortgage rates

I’m house shopping and check the rates daily, as of lately, I cannot get the current rates to load on the site, the page says under maintenance but it has been that way for a couple weeks, what’s the he** is going on? Kind of important to have rates listed as they change daily.

Have you not read member's experiences regarding mortgages?  As you know, USAA is not the company it used to be.  It was the BEST auto insurance company with rates NOBODY could match.  All of that has changed.  Now, USAA is just another company and nothing special.  My first year after leaving USAA for auto insurance, I saved over $4,000/year on the 4 vehicles I insure.  I posted to this effect and received a call from the "CEO's Office" and went over the insurance costs between the new company and USAA.  Interestingly, the USAA representative had no response, no response at all to the actual numbers.  Apparently, paying USAA for 40 years meant nothing since a well established insurance company could offer me this kind of savings.   The yearly policy I went with has subsequently decreased each time it has renewed.  I cannot remember a time when USAA's 6 month policy ever decreased during the last 10 years or so I was with USAA.  Every product USAA offers can easily be beaten by other companies.  As to mortgages, as a part of pro bono financial counseling I perform, I have recommended Ro***et Mortgage who has an extremely efficient process and very competitive interest rates.  They are also the mortgage servicer for their mortgages.

USAA started to change, and in my opinion not in a good way, I believe during CEO Robles tenure but definitely changed during Stuart Parker's tenure. (BTW He received a $6.5 million severance package.  I guess USAA had to increase the auto insurance rates to pay him this obscene amount of member's money and the CEOs subsequent to him.)  In my opinion, in the all out drive for membership, USAA lost it's focus and just began chasing the almighty dollar.  I sincerely believe that if General McDermott were alive today, he would be ashamed of the company USAA has become.  What has intentionally been done to USAA was a conscious business decision and to me very sad.  Having paid USAA for 40 years, I long for the company that USAA used to be. Sadly, I have divested everything from USAA.  You could say my posts are a attempt to get the "old USAA" back but I hold little hope that will take place.  So, USAA can rest on its past laurels.  But, those of us who experienced the "old USAA" know that no amount of advertising will bring the "old USAA" back.

Absolutely no way I would ever involved USAA with a mortgage.  You will regret it.

Have you had a USAA mortgage? If not then hush.

Whatever1, who are you to tell me what I can comment on?  No way I would ever involve USAA in a mortgage.  There are way better companies for mortgages.

@Bigbb. Ouch!  This is certainly not how we want our valued members to feel, would you please share with me why you feel this way about USAA?
