Loan denied

I just received a letter stating that I was denied "due to insufficient funds to close the loan"?? Is this a joke? I was never asked how much I was going to put down, never asked how much I have in savings, and never asked any other financial questions other than what I make hourly right now. I can't believe I belive that a pro-military bank would treat its members this way. I was on the phone with someone for maybe 5 minutes...
