On policies renewed after June 15, 2019, what is the new FHCF tax rate. It had been 1.3%

@Jetprop, that is correct. The FHCF assessment is 1.3% of the total premium for new and renewal policies.

Why can’t the finance wizards at USAA explain the rate increases? I am looking for lower rates!!

I live in SE Wisconsin and my homeowner's premiums increased 25% over the prior year.  I have never had a claim of any kind and hold several polices with USAA to include auto, life, and umbrella coverage in addition to having a few bank accounts with them.  A few months ago, I added additional coverage between auto and umbrella totaling $1,065 in new premiums over the prior year. It is disappointing that this additional business was immediately followed by such a significant premium increase.  I can respect that inflation and loss coverage will increase premiums over time, however a 25% increase is simply draconian.  I was told that all I could do to help meditate this increase was to increase my deductible.   USAA has a reputation of providing excellent coverage but I believe I am at the point where I need to look at alternatives.

I live in South WI myself, and also saw my rate go up by around 25% for my renewal in a couple of months. I'm checking around with other carriers as that is absurd. I don't have the long history with USAA that others have had and did make a few auto claims in short succession back in 2013, but only one was at fault. So I expect my rates would have been high from the get go in this case. But to see a 25% jump when I didn't make a claim seems silly.

I hate to leave USAA, but at this point I think I will be.

We saw a series of huge increases in our homeowners and vehicle premiums as well. They value my house and property way too high and claim it's a standard increase. We have 100s of thousands of dollars in USAA funds, savings and IRAs. I will not stay with them because they fail to remain competitive in the finacial market. I will be withdrawing everything and moving/rolling on.

I too have seen a 50% percent increase in my annual premium in the last four years and have never filed one homeowners claim. And this with no notification or explanation . Been a loyal member for 35 years and unfortunately forced to consider other options for insurance. Don’t know what’s happening at USAA but it is very disappointing.
