“America’s not perfect, but I’ll hold her hand until she gets well.”

– William H. Holloman, Lt Col (Retired), USAF

Many of us learned the background story of the Tuskegee Airmen through the movie, Red Tails, which is about a crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program who face segregation and triumph over racism, poor equipment, and initial underutilization during the air war over the European Theater of Operations during World War II.

The movie Red Tails is one of my favorite military related films and sparked my interest to learn about the Tuskegee Airmen experience. Today, I’m sharing the Red Tails Angels, a documentary produced by the U.S. Air Force Television Pentagon office featuring in-depth and compelling first-hand accounts of the Tuskegee experience.

Hope you enjoy the series and consider sharing with someone you know.

The perseverance, commitment and incredible strength against all odds shown by the Tuskegee Airmen is incredible and is a true testament of what the human spirit can endure and triumph over.

What were you most surprised to learn through watching the film or documentary?
