This Veterans Day we are fortunate to have back Ryan Guina of the Military Wallet to share his best meal and retail savings for this special day of appreciation for all active and former military members. While the world has changed and we aren’t in restaurants in the same way and perhaps ordering online more, these businesses are celebrating veterans.  Ryan created the Military Wallet to provide service members and their families his best resource information to help have a secure financial future and a comfortable standard of living in the present.

Here are Ryan’s best tips for Veterans Day – be sure to share! Note, this Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Veterans Day events – Each Veterans Day, many cities and towns have Veterans Day related events. In this new environment, check your local city website for updates on their Veterans Day parade or ceremony. Keep in mind these events may transition to a virtual environment where you can view on social media. Check with your local zoo or museums for possible special discounts and admission details.

Some Notes on Veterans Day Discounts:

  1. Most companies and organizations have rules to ask for some type of military ID or other identification to receive a Veterans Day discount. Don’t be offended, help your server or salesperson with the documentation.
  2. Don’t forget to tip and show your appreciation.
  3. Return to the business that offered the Veterans Day discount – loyalty to a business is the best way to show your appreciation.
  4. Share the companies good will with your contacts, friends, and family.
