caveat emptor is a Latin based legal term which means " buyer beware" out of the 51 USAA Mutual Funds 18 show green.... positive earning YTD Total Returns but of those,,,,, 10 show expenses as a percentage exceed the income Example Money Market yield 0.01% but expense ratio is 0.63 % You are handing money to USAA to maintain your funds Worse, yet, IF it's a New York or California Bond Fund, both positive rates of return You can't even invest in them unless you live in those states Gone are the days of invest and forget .......unless you have 20 or 30 years to retirement but even then some say once the dollar is gone,,,,,, it ain't comin back future savings are built on todays dollars CAVEAT EMPTOR Let the buyer beware
