I recently recieved convenience checks in order to pay off a Dell and Kohl's store credit card. I used the Dell and Kohl's bill pay process and entered the Routing Number and Account number from the checks, however, both payments were reversed. Can convenience checks not be used like a "real" check for paying online?
Is there not an answer to my question? I am going to snail mail the checks to the vendors but now I also owe late fees and was just wanting to know why the checks were not honored.
I am sorry for the delay, I am not an expert in this area, so I am waiting for an expert response. For a more immediate answer from someone who has access to your accounts please give us a call at 1-800-531-8722. Thank you
Unfortunately, under National Automatic Clearing House Association rules, convenience checks cannot be processed like a deposit account check. You will have to send in a convenience check no matter what institution it’s from. We apologize for the inconvenience.
