USAA Community Manager BrianaHartzellUSAA provided a good answer to the question about USAA Student Loans.

Here is a quote extracted from her post found here.

Information about USAA's student loans can be found here.

Excerpt from the student loan page...

"If you've left school, you can combine your existing private student loans into one new loan potentially reducing the amount you pay each month and eliminate the hassle of multiple payments."

Website Guru,

You sure are appreciated.

The issue with student loans from the backed by the government is that you do not want to consolidate under a bank loan, because federal backed student loans are considered good debt and the interest is tax deductible. In addition, you have options for deferment, loan forbearance, and so forth, which all is lost if you consolidate under any bank.

Now if you have loans at another bank (standard loans that were taken out for school not backed by the government) those would be great to move to USAA.
