I was paid from my job and when I went to deposit my check they put most of it on hold and basically left ne with change. I am a mother and I have bills to pay and food to buy and I'm not able to use my money which km letting them keep safe from me which is a lie because they take advantage of it. I have to wait a whole other week to receive my money. I am very disappointed and will not be using this company any more and will not recommend it to anyone.

If your checks are of a large amount all banks put a hold on the unless they are direct deposits. Recently had a gift of $2000 in the form of a check. The bank explained the process (which I already new) and freed up $350. They do this to be sure the third party's check clears their bank. Otherwise, you could be held accountable to pay for the funds not clearing. We've been with USAA for over 7 years now and we love them. Mostly because our parents are both vets. Hope this helps some b

Hi CarolinaGirl12, Thanks for taking the time to comment. USAA considers many factors when determining to place a hold on your deposit. USAA will place a hold for a maximum of 7 business days. Keep in mind, business days will exclude weekends and holidays. If you have not already done so, please contact one of our bank specialists at 1800-531-USAA (8722) to determine the reason for your specific hold and to discuss options for the future. As an alternative, if you are depositing a payroll check USAA accepts direct deposit from your payroll provider at no cost and this type of deposit is not subject to holds. If you have additional questions about your deposit options, please email us at contact us at 1800-531-USAA (8722) or socialmedia@usaa.com. Thank you again for posting in the community.
