@Classy1, thank you for reaching out. Members can visit usaa.com/securitycenter for more information on how to safeguard themselves against new social engineering tactics, like the impersonation scam, and to learn how they can keep their accounts and information safe using things like  multifactor authentication, account alerts, and antivirus software. A few reminders to help secure your accounts:

• Monitoring your account activity regularly and enabling multifactor authentication on all accounts to strengthen your logon security.
• Remember, USAA will never call or text you and ask for your one-time verification code, USAA Personal Identification Number (PIN), password or any other personal identification details and will not ask you to download software in an email or while you are on the phone with us. If you receive a suspicious call hang up immediately.
• Do not respond to any email that asks you to update your personal information online or by dialing a telephone number. Use only the customer service numbers listed on usaa.com.

If you have identified any unauthorized activity on your account please give us a call at 800-531-8722 or reach out to us via chat. We will be happy to assist with investigating this further.  - Robyn
