I am a currently disabled veteran pending my 100% P&T rating and suffer from seizure disorder and metastatic cancer currently under control but being treated. I also have a cardiac condition that's being tested and assessed for probable pace maker. I cannot drive or be alone. I am moving to Louisiana around September 1 due to a need to relocate. I have very very limited funds currently due to the small amount I get from the VA and social security. I have very very little to move the [removed sensitive data] miles, just clothing, about 15 or less boxes and am really struggling to find a way to afford it. I can't drive and have no one who can make the drive for me. Does anyone have any resources or suggestions? Thank you in advance, God Bless and Semper Fi.

Dear Coco2547,

Thanks for writing to USAA Member Community.  Here are a few ideas to assist with your move:

(1) Disabled American Veterans (DAV) has a mobility service to get military veterans to VA appointments and other services.  They are worth a try to assist - https://www.dav.org/veterans/i-need-a-ride/

(2) The Marine for Life Network assists Marine Corp members with transition, career, and other life events - https://www.usmc-mccs.org/services/career/marine-for-life-network/

(3) The Navy - Marine Corps Relief Society can provide interest free loans or other financial benefits with emergencies - https://www.nmcrs.org/

(4) County Veteran Service Officers can connect veterans to emergency resources, education, and other benefits - https://nvf.org/veteran-service-officers/

Thanks for writing.  Please write back if we can help more.
