Hello - I am trying to figure out how to add beneficiaries to my USAA banking accounts.  I don't see anywhere to do this and can't find the Transfer on Death information.

I have no desire to try to get someone from USAA on the phone.

Thanks

It's a relatively simple process.  The only thing that is involved is providing an updated signature card agreement.  Unfortunately, I believe you may have to contact USAA by phone.   There should be a link on your account page to add or delete an account holder (which should generate the new signature card .... but, in my case, it would not work and was required to contact USAA to effect the change).  On the bright side, after contacting them, the completely filled out signature card agreement was in my documents section.  All I had to do was download it, sign it and then upload it to USAA.  Very simple.  But, you are correct ... absolutely NO information on the site (that I could find at the time) to explain what you needed to do.  I went the route of doing PODs on all of my financial accounts instead of putting assets in a trust for our daughter.  Believe me ... while the process effecting the POD change on our USAA accounts was not the simplest  ... it was, by far, not the most complex!  With one financial institution I had to physically go to a branch office to do this!

@gobachi, thank you for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate it.

@Sadme, this is correct. A phone call to USAA will be needed to request the addition of a beneficiary to the account. To ensure there are no delays, a banking specialist will obtain and verify the beneficiary information and create an amended signature card. The card can be mailed to you or uploaded to your My Documents online. The amended signature card will need to be signed and returned to USAA. Please give us a call at 800-531-8722 and we will be happy to assist with the request. Thank you. - Robyn
