I'm trying to deposit a check with a large amount. Roughly about 65k, so here’s the catch I live in San Jose, CA and the nearest USAA back is about 300 miles from me, how can I deposit this check?
thanks... i called the nearest ups and they said they don't do it had to use the locator in USAA to find one that did it. thanks for the info i found one and had me deposit it with no problem...
Molan, When I do rollovers for clients of mine, I'm an advisor, I get a signature guarantee stamp form the client takes to a financial institution that they use regularly. I would suggest you call USAA customer service and see if they have such. Form you can get stamped and send in with the check. I hope this helps. John
I was told you can't deposit the check at UPS if it is over 20k, Per customer service. Customer service wanted me to use certified mail. Certified mail is horrible, takes a long time and costs money. Signature Guarantees require an account with another financial institution. Seems lame to use another institutions services to give USAA your money. I feel like there needs to be a better way to deposit larger checks. (Perhaps a credit union alliance of some sort?)

Followed your request to call customer service a second time. Was told there is no limit to dollar amounts on deposits. In fact, 2nd customer service representative said they preferred UPS deposit versus mail. So, things have changed and I am much happier with my second go around.
