Filed for bankruptcy back in 2006; lost a house...  Today my credit score is >700 but the bankruptcy still shows as a reason for the low score.  When will this "disappear," and should I contact the 3 credit bureaus?

Bankruptcy stays on for 10 years.  However you must have other factors going on.  After 10 years, it doesn't usually decrease your score that much.  Go search www.creditboards.com.  Tons of great info.

It should be removed on 2016, chapter 13 bankruptcy remains on your credit history for seven years. Chapters 7 and 11 are reported for 10 years.
