Why is USAA Supporting Rep. Joaquin Castro, when he threatens public citizens for carrying out their civic duty. Why should any American have to "think twice" about supporting any political candidate? How can USAA support this type of political extortion when your main clientele are those that fought for freedom?

Why indeed is our money being used to support a politician who threatens Americians for contributing their own money to another politician. Castro is a loathsome character and USAA does a disservice to its community of veterans by supporting him. I moved money out of USAA after a previous political debacle of theirs, this may make close evrything down once and for all

That's the unfortunate part of about watching the politicians going after each other--especially after the last election. They all seem to talk out of both sides of their mouth. Add the media's biased power (ability to select what they want to print or broadcast) and you have a lot of uncertainty. Yes, it seems Rep. Castro is instituting his form of political persecution. Interestingly enough--he's decided to start his quest in San Antonio since his (and his brother's) support base is strong in the area.  I can't understand his determination in calling out donors--especially when both benefited from many of those same companies--when they were seeking political office. I guess that doesn't matter to most people these days. As far as going after people/voters who disagree with his party's ideology? To some extent, I think that started back on the evening of Nov 8th, 2016 after the election results came out. USAA unfortunately is stuck right in the middle. They paid for their ads on all networks when NFL players were kneeling during the national anthem. A lot of people were upset at USAA about it. You might disagree, but it is freedom of speech whether we agree or not.  The media uses it very well to twist stories however way they want to--in order to instigate a particular response from everyone. They have their own biased agendas just like the politicians--and we're their pawns. One thing is for sure, it will be an interesting election year for our country.

Unfortunately, the name "Castro" has  been tainted by Raul and Fidel.  Joaquin is merely living up (Or down, depending on how one looks at it) to their standards.

Spoiler alert, this is a trumpanzee thread. Tell us how you feel about the Big Cheeto bailing on the one sane ethnic group in the Middle East, the Kurds.  Trump leaves them to their fate under a wack job like Erdogan and buddy's up with the Saudis who murdered and dismembered a reporter employed by a U.S. newspaper in, where else, the Turkish embassey. Keep in mind, most of the 9-11 hijackers came from where? That's right, Saudi Arabia! And you're worried about the Castro brothers and then have the stupidity to add in Raul and Fidel's names to denigrate two fellow U.S. citizens. What a bunch of low lifes you are. A N.Y. state court just authorized the release Trump's tax returns. He's toast. Now go fire up your Tiki torches and have a parade just like 1930's Germany.

@Black Widow - the thread has been relatively civil. Thank for showing us all again that TDS is a serious issue in the USA.

A trumpanzee using the word "civil". That's rich cosidering the trash and [removed sensitive data] verifiable lies that have fallen from the lips of President Grab 'em by the P#$%^&*. Sure, Trumps going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it. Enjoy Putin's punk.

Although I share your concerns and basic views, resorting to verbal abuse puts you right down three with the current swamp culture.  Moderators may silence you...therefore any sort of reasonable discourse will be cut off.  I don't agree with the mindset of "when they go low, we go high" as cropped up in 2016.   But please don't get yourself silenced.  Even though sooooo many here don't have the education, experience, critical thinking, and analytical skills needed to find the truth, you might actually plant a seed of awareness in one or two minds if you don't come across like them.  Stick with factual facts....not alternative facts; and try to reason with the unreasonable.  Sort of like dealing with unruly children: don't debase yourself and wallow in the poo-poo.  But drive on, Blackwidow!   2020 is coming, even though the GOP likely will prevail like it did to win the 2016 election for the guy who lost the election on his personal and professional merit.  Case in point: review the video footage from this week when Lourdes Marmalade said he was building a big, beautiful, effective wall..../in Colorado!  Not only pointed out we have a President who doesn't tell the truth or understand where the states are located, PEOPLE ON THE STAGE STOOD TO APPLAUD!   Think of that when you try to converse with MAGA folks.  Tchuss!!
