USAA is recognizing Celebrate Diversity Month in April by creating an Allyship week. Started in 2004, Celebrate Diversity Month honors the diversity surrounding us all. By celebrating differences and similarities during this month, organizers hope that people will get a deeper understanding of each other. An ally is someone who actively promotes and aspires to advance the culture of inclusion through intentional, positive, and conscious efforts that benefit people as a whole.

What can you do to incorporate allyship principals and advance inclusion?

Be an ally – truly pause and listen to the unique experiences and perspectives of others. After gaining that additional awareness, you’ll now be in a better position to support by speaking up against non-inclusive acts and amplifying the voices of those most impacted.
