Show Your Support This Memorial Day by Dedicating a Poppy

Since World War I, more than 645,000 men and women have given their lives in defense of our Nation. The Memorial Day poppy, inspired by the World War I poem, “In Flanders Fields” by Lt.Col. John McCrae of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, is a symbol of remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

You can dedicate a #PoppyInMemory by visiting our virtual poppy wall. It is a beautiful display of poppys that you can click to read another’s unique dedication message or choose to add your own in memory of a fallen service member and/or veterans who have passed. I dedicated a poppy in honor of my Grandfather, John Boyd. Here is an example of a dedication:

You can also add a poppy overlay to your Facebook or Twitter photo to share your support:

This Memorial Day, take time to remember those who have given us the freedoms we enjoy today.

“And now the Torch and Poppy Red

We wear in honor of our dead.

Fear not that ye have died for naught;

We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought

In Flanders Fields”

-Moina Michael 1918

I accidentally saved a poppy with my first name instead of my brother's name.  How can I get it deleted from the poppy wall?

Hello trici_sol, we can forward this to our developers. Does your brother has the same last name as you or is there a different last name? If there was a different last name we would need to know what that name is so we can see about removing it form the wall. - Ralph

Hi Briana,

I think you meant to say 640,000 men and women have given their lives instead of 64,000.

Dear martin_3,

You are absolutely correct. Thank you. I apologize for my mistype and have fixed the number. Thank you again for taking the time to comment!

This is a beautiful idea; however, I have tried 3 times to post a memorial poppy in honor of my dad.  I get through all the fields, check the "I'm not a robot box", and hit Submit.  Nothing happens, and when I try to search the Poppy Wall, the dedication does not appear.  Help?

Oh no @Carmen's Mom! I would recommend clearing your cookies on your computer first and try again. If it still doesn't work please try again in a little while. This is the website customer support teams number 877-632-3002 and perhaps they can troubleshoot if it doesn't work after a little while, maybe about an hour. Thanks for letting us know!  ~Tom

I am trying to dedicate a poppy, but I think the site isn't working. It doesn't seem to allow you to click the "Dedicate A Poppy" button under the dedicate section.  Also, under the Explore section I tried to do a search to make sure no one had already dedicated a poppy to the fallen soldier I was looking to dedicate for and the "magnifing glass search" button doesn't do anything either.  Any help would be greatly appricated.

Hi, @fitch2. Thank you for your willingness to submit a dedication and for sharing this with us. When you revisit the site at this time, is this issue still persisting? ~ Steven

Tried several times using all browsers.  Failed every time.

Hi @Groumpy2245, sorry to hear you are having difficulty with this. Please try to refresh your browser and then try to dedicate a poppy again. You will also need to answer the Captcha image questions. Please let us know if you need further assistance! -Marisa
