Today is Friday and when you think about the weekend coming up, what do you have planned?

We have an awesome MWR at our base. Every week they send out an email titled: What to do this Weekend! This email is filled with local events that are happening on base, in my town and surrounding areas; it even includes the movies playing at our base theater. I look forward to this email every week. I don't have to do any Internet searching, or read my local paper, all I have to do is read this handy little email message.

When my spouse is gone this is especially helpful. When he is deployed I can seriously - especially if I'd had an extremely stressful week - spend an entire Saturday in my PJs.

My bottom line is, get out of your pajamas, and get out of the house this weekend. Explore your local area. The leaves are showing their fall colors all over the country and abroad. Grab your camera and get out into the fresh air. Let nature be your inspiration! Pour some apple cider, roast some pumpkin seeds and invite some friends over to watch Charlie Brown's, It's the Great Pumpkin!

Here are some FALLing into fun activities:

  • Go Apple Picking
  • Make Leaf Art
  • Go on a Hay-Ride
  • Have a Photoshoot in a Leaf Pile
  • Enjoy a Bonefire with S'mores
  • Make Caramel Apples
  • Visit a Corn Maze
  • Go to a Pumpkin Patch
  • Make Fall Cookies
  • Take a Nature Walk (with your camera!)
  • Bake Pies
  • Trick-or-Treat
  • Decorate (Carve/Paint) a Pumpkin
  • Drink Fancy Coffee Drinks (Pumpkin Spice)

By the way inquire with your local MWR and see if they offer this email blast and add your name to the list. If they don't suggest the idea!

Have a great fall weekend!
