I'm looking to purchase a car with a lien using a USAA auto loan. The remaining balance on the loan is much less the asking price. Does USAA pay the lienholder the remaining loan balance and then the sellers remaining asking price? How does this work?

Hello and thank you for your inquiry concerning your purchase from an individual with a lien and a remaining balance. Typically we will disperse funds directly to the seller's lienholder full amount and the remaining balance will be provided to them once the payoff is completed. If you would like to confirm if we can disperse to the lienholder directly and to the difference to the seller, please contact our Consumer Lending Department at 210-531-USAA (8722), our mobile shortcut #8722 or 800-531-8722. Our business hours are Monday through Friday 6:30am-10:00pm CT and Saturday 8:00am - 6:00pm CT. Thank you so much and look forward to speaking with you! - Darrell
