Word to the wise - if you do not have a local USAA branch, I would NOT recommend trying to take out a loan. With a credit score of 800+, I thought it would be an easy process...man, was I wrong. Finally, after multiple phone calls and documents to be uploaded multiple times, the check was being "overnighted". I guess overnight means 3 days later. Don't get me wrong; I like USAA, but I defintely recommend dealing locally, where they can print the check and you can roll out with it in hand. Normally, it wouldn't be a big deal, but when you have a plane to catch, it makes things time sensitive. Best of luck to those that apply and complete everything over the phone or web...my best advice is to follow up with them daily to ensure all is well and thing ate being handled; otherwise, you'll end up like me - trying to change your entire schedule to wait for the "overnight" delivery.

Eagle-one,

I am so sorry for the frustration the delay of your check has caused. We would like the opportunity to look further into what happened. If you could please email us here at socialmedia@usaa.com with your member number and the details you provided above, we will properly escalate your situation and a specialist will be in touch. Again, I am very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

I'll say this in response to your issues.  That really stinks, but I've financed BOTH my houses and all my cars through USAA and never had an issue.  They've always made the process extremely efficient.  Not everything can always run smoothly and exactly as you foresee it.  Not sure I agree that after having that one issue, albiet important to you, that you sum up USAA as unreliable in a nutshell...
