My daughter is a college student with some student loans and little income during college. I thought it would be good to have her get a credit card to start building more credit, but USAA denied it based on income. Why would you expect a college student to have much income and I'm wondering if her student loans, which are not due yet (for another 2 years), are hurting her acceptance ? Isn't there an option for just a low balance card?

Hi @JCW78, sadly we are unable to see if she gets approved or declined until we pull her credit report. I recommend reaching out to a credit advisor to see if the student loans are impacting her. ~Sarah
