I've been a happy USAA memeber for over one decade, and this is my first ever credit card dispute. I recently bought my girlfriend (soon to be fiance) a engagement ring and wedding band from a online merchant. I ordered a ring size 5, but to my surprise one ring came in at a size 6 and the other at a 6.5! Clearly poor quality control with this merchant. Also the rose gold looks more like gold. Anyways the companies website said no questions asked free 30 day returns with a return authorization. So when i emailed them about getting a return authroization number they said since my order was considered custom, i wasn't included in the return process and could not get my money back. Clearly i did not get what i ordered and i just want my money back. So i opened a USAA credit card dispute because i would like to get my money back and propse soon. Does anyone know how long or how much luck they had with USAA in disputing a credit card charge? How long does it take? I read online that USAA customer service regarding disputes has a quite low level of satisfaction. Also the merchant has not responded to my last two emails that i sent almost one week ago. I recently uploaded all the emails and pictures of the rings to USAA. Any infomarion on results or timeline a dispute takes or anything else i need or should do will be grealty appreciated.
I just want to add until USAA makes a decision, i don't have enough funds to purchase another engagement ring and wedding band. What was supossed to be a happy time, is turning out to be a nightmare with the merchant. I also called USAA and they said they didn't get some of the documents that i uploaded. According to USAA's website they said they were recieved. So this time I uploaded them and also faxed them in. I just hope this process doesn't last a few months!

Yes a representative from USAA contacted me and stated they are investigating. He said i should have received a letter in the mail but i told him i didn't as of yesterday. He said to wait 15 days first desicion. Thanks again and i'll keep you updated of my progress
