I am having the same issue. At some stage I had thought that I could verify in the mobile app, but that doesn't seem to be available now. I have been going in circles since it's outside of hours and a chat representative said they could not help because they are very limited in what they can do. They also instructed me to call web support, which when I said "Apple Pay" just said it's outside of hours. When I found this post and tried saying "technical support" it asked me to specify exactly what I needed. By saying the right things I managed to get tech support and they could not help so they managed to find someone available in banking who looked up my profile and said they have verified it. After getting off the phone, the only thing that had been done was updating my expiration date (which was already correct in the first place) and when I open wallet, it still says I have to call to verify my account.
The whole process is very frustrating :(
