What has happened to the good USAA I once knew?

My son just arranged a car loan from USAA Bank for a car to be purchaced from a private party. The loan office asked for a copy of the front and back of the car title. The night before last the seller and my son and I took an evening to meet (a hour and a half drive) where we got the pictures as requested. Yesterday at 8 a.m. my son sent the pictures of the title to the loan officer. The loan officer looked at the pictures of the title and said they were okay and we would receive the funding check today.

This site won't publish a description of the sacrifices made to meet the seller...

But USAA did not send the check as promised. Instead they left a voice mail this afternoon that someone in the funding department looked at the pictures of the title and said they wouldn't issue the check because ALL FOUR CORNERS OF THE TITLE AREN'T VISABLE!!!!! Tomorrow is Saturday, Monday is a bank holiday. The check won't get here until Wednesday (if USAA doesn't come up with more stupid stuff to delay it).

My son is very angry and I am very sad that USAA has come down to this...

USAA is going to pot in a hand basket.  Sorry Matchewman that you can't get benefits.  But USAA is not as good as other insurancers these days.  They are $400/yr more expensive for home owner's insurance than their competitors.  I am told by USAA it is because of all their claims in the last year.  So all of us are paying for the claims that have been in high risk areas.

That's always the way insurance works! I'll bet you never complained when claims for the year were less than anticipated & USAA lowered your premiums, did you?

USAA has gone way down hill since I have been a member.  Its just like any other corporation now and there is really no benefit to doing business here.  I plan to move all my accounts out whenever I get the motivation.

stop whining.  They are people, not robots.  Maybe you should plan ahead a little.  Couldn't the seller have sent you a picture of the title earlier?

Oversight on your son's part does not necessarily constitute an emergency on their part.
